I am from Honduras. In 2006, I moved to the United States and started school in the city of New Orleans. I graduated from high school as a certified nursing assistant. I am a bilingual speaker.
I started working in the insurance industry about 7 months ago. I enjoy everything about it. One of the great things about the insurance industry is that you do not have to have a specific educational background or set of work experiences to be able to a great job. While many roles do have an element of independence, an insurance career often calls for frequent client interaction, teamwork, and networking.
There is a lot of opportunity to learn and grow within this industry. Since the insurance industry welcomes candidates from a diverse range of backgrounds, there’s a heavy emphasis on training and development, both in terms of onboarding and continual learning. I really enjoy the frequent client interaction and also the teamwork that it takes to get the job done. It feels very nice to see that I am able to help the client and have them leave with a happy smile.
When I am not working, I spend my time at church worshiping God. I volunteer at the church that I attend as a Sunday school teacher for the children and also help with the group of ushers.
